Product Specific Information

This G10F5 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD66b, a granulocyte-specific activation antigen expressed on neutrophils and eosinophils. CD66b is upregulated upon stimulation and functions as a glycosyl-phosphatidylinositol-linked receptor involved in neutrophil activation and adhesion to fibronectin, galectin-3, and E-selectin.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and validated for flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended usage: 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test, defined as the amount required to stain a sample in 100 µL final volume (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

Target Information

The CD66b gene encodes a member of the carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) family within the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is part of a cluster on chromosome 19 containing CEA cell adhesion molecules and pregnancy-specific glycoproteins, along with pseudogenes. The protein functions as a cell adhesion molecule found on leukocytes, epithelia, and endothelia, mediating both homophilic and heterophilic interactions. It plays roles in tissue organization, angiogenesis, apoptosis, tumor suppression, metastasis, and immune modulation. Multiple transcript variants exist, though not all are fully characterized.
