Target Information
IRAK3 serine/threonine kinase, also known as interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase 3, is a member of the interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase protein family. These kinases are essential components of the Toll/IL-R immune signal transduction pathways.
IRAK3 is primarily expressed in monocytes and macrophages and functions as a negative regulator of Toll-like receptor signaling. It mediates critical aspects of innate immunity that result in immunocompromised states during sepsis.
Mutations in IRAK3 are associated with susceptibility to asthma.
