Preparation:
Produced in BALB/c mice immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human IL-1β. Anti-Human IL-1β-specific antibody was purified from cell culture by Protein G affinity chromatography.
Target Information
Interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) is a proinflammatory cytokine expressed by monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. It is synthesized as an inactive 31 kDa pro-form that accumulates in the cytosol and is cleaved into an active 17 kDa form via inflammasome activation. IL-1β signals through IL-1RI and IL-1RII receptors shared with IL-1α, and its activity can be inhibited by IL-1 Receptor Antagonist (IL-1RA). IL-1β plays a crucial role in innate immune defense by inducing proinflammatory cytokines and acute-phase responses. Elevated IL-1β levels are associated with chronic inflammatory conditions, and IL-1β neutralizing antibodies have potential therapeutic applications.
