Normal mouse IgG is produced from serum of non-immunized mice and purified by ammonium sulfate precipitation. This preparation serves as a control reagent for immunoassays utilizing mouse monoclonal antibodies.
Target Information
The isotype of a primary antibody and its application can influence background staining. Non-specific signals may arise from Fc receptor binding, interactions with cellular components, or autofluorescence. Isotype control antibodies act as negative controls to distinguish specific antibody signals from background noise. They are commonly used in flow cytometry, but also applicable in chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and gel shift assays.
Isotype controls should match the species and isotype of the primary antibody to ensure accurate comparison. When using directly labeled antibodies, the isotype control should be conjugated with the same label.
