- Human NMI shares 64% amino acid sequence identity with mouse NMI.
Target Information
NMYC interactor (NMI) encodes a protein that interacts with NMYC and CMYC (oncogene Myc family members) and other transcription factors containing Zip, HLH, or HLH-Zip motifs.
The NMI protein interacts with all STATs except STAT2 and enhances STAT-mediated transcription in response to cytokines IL2 and IFN-γ.
NMI mRNA shows low expression in most human fetal and adult tissues except brain, with high expression in myeloid leukemia cancer cell lines.
