Target Information
Peroxiredoxin (Prx)은 세포 증식, 분화, 세포사멸과 관련된 퍼옥시다아제 계열의 단백질군입니다. 약 50여 종의 isoform이 존재하며, 활성 부위 cysteine 잔기를 포함하고 thiol 특이적 항산화 활성을 가집니다.
포유류 Prx는 6개의 멤버로 구성되며, typical 2-Cys, atypical 2-Cys, 1-Cys Prx로 구분됩니다. Prx VI는 1-Cys Prx에 속하며, 나머지 다섯 2-Cys Prx는 thioredoxin, thioredoxin reductase, NADPH를 이용하는 thioredoxin-dependent peroxidase (TPx) 활성을 갖습니다.
포유류 Prx 단백질은 분자량 20–30 kDa로, 세포질(Prx I, II, VI), 미토콘드리아(Prx III), 소포체 및 분비계(Prx IV), 그리고 복합적인 분포(Prx V) 등 다양한 세포 내 위치에 존재합니다.
