Applications Reported:
Reported for use in flow cytometric analysis and immunoblot.
Applications Tested:
- Tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human induced pluripotent stem cells and for western blot.
- For flow cytometry: ≤0.25 µg/test (100 µL final volume).
- For western blot: ≤10 µg/mL.
- Recommended to titrate antibody for optimal performance.
Purity: Greater than 90%, as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Aggregation: Less than 10%, as determined by HPLC.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Target Information
P-cadherin (Cadherin-3) is a Type 1 cadherin protein in the cadherin superfamily. It is a single-pass transmembrane protein with 5 extracellular cadherin repeats and an intracellular domain that binds p120-catenin and beta-catenin.
Cadherins are calcium-dependent cell-cell adhesion glycoproteins involved in:
- Development and wound healing
- Cell-cell signaling
- Cell growth and differentiation
Expression:
- Human fetal tissues
- Adult basal epidermis, breast, prostate, ovary, cervix, hair follicle, corneal endothelium
- Embryonic stem cells and mammary/hair follicle stem cells
Clinical Relevance:
Overexpression is associated with poor prognosis in breast, prostate, ovary, colon, and stomach cancers.
Mutations in CDH3 are linked to congenital hypotrichosis with juvenile macular dystrophy.
For Research Use Only.
Not for use in diagnostic procedures or resale without authorization.
