The eBioPP35 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD244 (also known as 2B4, p38, NK-cell activation-inducing ligand, SLAMF4, and natural killer cell receptor 2B4).
CD244 is a 38 kDa protein expressed on NK cells, subsets of CD8⁺ T cells, γδ T cells, monocytes, basophils, mast cells, and eosinophils. Binding of CD244 to its ligand CD48 induces NK cell activation. Costaining with eBioC1.7 suggests recognition of distinct epitopes.

Target Information
CD244 (2B4, SLAMF4) is a cell surface receptor on NK cells and some T cells that mediates non-MHC restricted cytotoxicity. Interaction with SLAMF2 (CD48) modulates NK-cell activity. Reduced SLAMF4 expression has been observed in systemic lupus erythematosus, implicating CD244 in autoimmune pathology. Dysregulation of CD244 is also linked to rheumatoid arthritis and lymphoproliferative syndromes.
