- Specificity: Complexin-3 and Complexin-4.
Target Information
Complexin-3 & 4 Function:
Positively regulates a late step in synaptic vesicle exocytosis.
Tissue Specificity:
- Complexin-3: Present in many brain regions, including hippocampus and cerebellum. In the retina, found at amacrine cell synapses and photoreceptor ribbon synapses.
- Complexin-4: Present specifically in the retina at rod photoreceptor ribbon synapses. Not expressed at conventional amacrine cell synapses or cone photoreceptor ribbon synapses.
Subcellular Location:
Membrane; Lipid-anchor.
