Target Information
The RNA-directed RNA polymerase, also known as non-structural protein NS5B, is a 65 kDa protein that resembles other viral RNA polymerases. Hepatitis C virus (HCV) replication occurs in membrane-bound replication complexes, which transcribe the positive strand and use the resulting minus strand as a template for genomic RNA synthesis. Two viral proteins, NS3 and NS5B, are involved in this process.
