Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by antigen-specific affinity chromatography. Purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
Pyruvate Carboxylase requires biotin and ATP to catalyze the carboxylation of pyruvate to oxaloacetate. The active enzyme is a homotetramer located exclusively in the mitochondrial matrix. It plays a key role in gluconeogenesis, lipogenesis, insulin secretion, and neurotransmitter glutamate synthesis. Mutations in this gene are associated with pyruvate carboxylase deficiency.
