Product Specific Information

Specificity:
This antibody is specific for murine serpentine receptor mCMKLR1 (also known as ChemR23, DEZ). mCMKLR1 is a novel protein with high homology to members of the chemoattractant receptor family and binds the chemoattractant chemerin. Selective mCMKLR1 expression has been demonstrated by mouse macrophages ex vivo and by dendritic cell precursors cultured in vitro.

Preparation:
This antibody was raised by immunising Wistar Furth rats with the mCMKLR1 peptide/KLH conjugate. The immunizing amino-terminal mCMKLR1 peptide sequence is NH₂-DSGIYDDEYSDGFGYFVDLEEASPWC-COOH, corresponding to residues 8–32 of mCMKLR1, with a nonnative carboxyl-terminal cysteine to facilitate conjugation to keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH).

Target Information

Chemokine-like receptor 1 (CMKLR1) is a receptor for the chemoattractant adipokine chemerin/RARRES2 and for the omega-3 fatty acid derived molecule resolvin E1. Interaction with RARRES2 activates intracellular signaling molecules such as SKY, MAPK1/3 (ERK1/2), MAPK14/P38MAPK, and PI3K, leading to multifunctional effects including reduction of immune responses, enhancement of adipogenesis, and angiogenesis. Resolvin E1 down-regulates cytokine production in macrophages by reducing activation of MAPK1/3 (ERK1/2) and NF-kappa-B. CMKLR1 positively regulates adipogenesis and adipocyte metabolism and acts as a coreceptor for several SIV strains (SIVMAC316, SIVMAC239, SIVMACL7E-FR, SIVSM62A) as well as a primary HIV-1 strain (92UG024-2).
