Product Specific Information

The 16B1 antibody reacts with human CD144 (VE-cadherin, cadherin-5), a calcium-dependent adhesion molecule localized at endothelial cell junctions. It plays roles in vascular permeability and remodeling.

• Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
• Applications Tested: Pre-diluted, tested on Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells (HUVEC)
  • Use at 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test (100 µL final volume)
  • Applicable for 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test

Fluorochrome Information:
PE-eFluor 610 is excited by 488–561 nm lasers and emits at 607 nm. Recommended filter: 610/20 band pass (PE-Texas Red equivalent). Ensure instrument compatibility.

Light Sensitivity:
Protect vial and stained samples from light to prevent photo-induced oxidation.

Fixation:
Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product #00-8222-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product #00-5333-57) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark with minimal brightness loss.

Target Information

VE-cadherin is a calcium-dependent cell-cell adhesion glycoprotein located on chromosome 16. It consists of five extracellular cadherin repeats, a transmembrane region, and a conserved cytoplasmic tail. It contributes to endothelial cell junction organization and cohesion. An alternative splice variant has been reported.
