Product Specific Information
1 µg/mL of MA5-45125 was sufficient for detection of CD74 in 20 µg of PALA cell lysates by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using goat anti-mouse IgG: AP as the secondary antibody.
Detects approximately 33–35 kDa protein doublet corresponding to the molecular mass of the p33 and p35 forms of human CD74.
Target Information
HLA-DR, like other MHC class II molecules, is a transmembrane glycoprotein composed of a 36 kDa alpha chain (DRA) and a 27 kDa beta chain (DRB). The alpha chain gene contains 5 exons:
- Exon 1 encodes the leader peptide
- Exons 2 and 3 encode the extracellular domains
- Exon 4 encodes the transmembrane domain and cytoplasmic tail
DRA acts as the sole alpha chain for DRB1, DRB3, DRB4, and DRB5 and lacks polymorphisms in the peptide-binding region. DRB1 alleles exhibit polymorphisms determining peptide-binding specificities, used for transplantation typing.
HLA-DR is expressed on antigen-presenting cells such as B lymphocytes, monocytes, macrophages, thymic epithelial cells, and activated T lymphocytes.
MHC class II molecules (DR, DQ, DP) bind intracellularly processed peptides and present them to T-helper cells, playing a key role in immune response initiation.
