Target Information
SIRT5는 Sirtuin(Sir2-like protein) 계열에 속하는 인간 단백질로, 원핵생물과 진핵생물 모두에서 발견됩니다. 모든 Sir2-like 단백질은 세균부터 인간에 이르기까지 보존된 서열 모티프를 포함하는 sirtuin core domain을 가지고 있습니다. 세균, 효모 및 포유류의 sirtuin은 NAD를 대사하며 mono-ADP-ribosyltransferase로 작용할 수 있습니다. 효소 기능은 완전히 규명되지 않았지만, 최근 연구에서 Sir2가 NAD 대사 및 히스톤 탈아세틸화에 관여하는 상호 활성화 메커니즘이 제안되었습니다.
