Product Specific Information
Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 10 mM citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 10 minutes, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Following antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
A suggested positive control is normal kidney or renal cell carcinoma.
Target Information
CD205 (also known as LY75 or Lymphocyte Antigen 75) is an integral membrane glycoprotein involved in antigen uptake, trafficking, and presentation, enhancing antigen-specific T cell immunity.
It is highly expressed by CD8+ dendritic cells and at varying levels in bone marrow Gr1+ cells, Langerhans cells, bone marrow-derived dendritic cells (BMDCs), and thymic epithelial cells.
CD205 functions as an endocytic receptor directing captured antigens toward specialized antigen processing regions and can reduce B lymphocyte proliferation.
Dysfunction of CD205 has been associated with diseases such as pneumonic plague and lipid pneumonia.
