Target Information
The CPT1B protein is a member of the carnitine/choline acetyltransferase family and functions as the rate-controlling enzyme in the long-chain fatty acid beta-oxidation pathway within muscle mitochondria. It facilitates the transport of long-chain fatty acyl-CoAs from the cytoplasm into the mitochondria. Multiple transcript variants and read-through transcripts have been identified for this gene.
