Target Information
Grin3a is an NMDA (N-methyl-D-aspartate) receptor subtype of glutamate-gated ion channels characterized by reduced single-channel conductance, low calcium permeability, and low voltage-dependent sensitivity to magnesium. It is glycine-mediated and may play roles in dendritic spine development and PPP2CB-NMDAR signaling. Grin3a belongs to the glutamate-regulated ion channel superfamily, functioning in physiological and pathological processes of the central nervous system. It shares >90% identity with the rat subunit. Knockout mouse studies suggest involvement in synaptic development via modulation of NMDA receptor activity.
