Target Information
Glutamine synthase는 glutamine synthetase family에 속하는 효소로, 동물에서 암모니아의 포합은 glutamate dehydrogenase와 glutamine synthase의 작용을 통해 이루어집니다. Glutamate는 질소 흐름의 중심 역할을 하며, 질소 공여자 및 수용체로 작용합니다. 또한 신경전달물질 glutamate의 대사 조절에 중요한 역할을 합니다. GS의 촉매 활성과 합성은 세포 대사에서 매우 정밀하게 조절되며, adenylylation에 의해 조절됩니다. Alzheimer’s disease로 영향을 받은 뇌의 대뇌피질에서 GS 활성은 특히 노인성 플라크 주변에서 감소하며, 포도당 결핍 상태에서도 감소합니다.
