Product Specific Information
This antibody recognizes canine CD45R and was clustered at the First Canine Leucocyte Antigen Workshop (CLAW). It precipitates an antigen of 220 kDa from Con A Blasts.
Target Information
CD45R (PTPRC) is a member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family, which regulates cellular processes such as growth, differentiation, mitotic cycle, and oncogenic transformation. CD45 is expressed in hematopoietic cells and is essential for T- and B-cell receptor signaling. The CD45 glycoprotein is crucial for lymphocyte development and antigen signaling, acting as a regulator of Src-family kinases. Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains but sharing identical transmembrane and cytoplasmic domains. CD45 also promotes cell survival via integrin-mediated signaling and participates in apoptosis-related DNA fragmentation. CD45RA is an isoform with restricted expression among lymphoid cell subtypes. Dysfunction of CD45 is associated with Severe Combined Immunodeficiency and Hepatitis C.
