This antibody recognizes canine CD45R and was clustered at the First Canine Leucocyte Antigen Workshop (CLAW). It precipitates an antigen of 220 kDa from Con A Blasts.
Target Information
CD45R (PTPRC) is a member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family. PTPs are signaling molecules that regulate cellular processes such as growth, differentiation, mitotic cycle, and oncogenic transformation.
CD45 contains an extracellular domain, a single transmembrane segment, and two tandem intracytoplasmic catalytic domains. It is expressed in hematopoietic cells and regulates T- and B-cell receptor signaling.
CD45 glycoprotein is critical in lymphocyte development and antigen signaling, functioning as a regulator of Src-family kinases. Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains.
CD45 also modulates integrin-mediated signaling and participates in apoptosis-related DNA fragmentation. CD45RA, an isoform, shows restricted expression among lymphoid cell subtypes.
Dysfunction of CD45 is associated with Severe Combined Immunodeficiency and Hepatitis C.
