Target Information
Apolipoprotein A4 (ApoA-IV) is a plasma protein that becomes an O-linked glycoprotein after proteolytic processing. It is a major constituent of HDL and is also found on newly synthesized chylomicrons. Although its physiological function is not fully identified, evidence suggests ApoA4 participates in several steps of the reverse cholesterol transport pathway, moving cholesterol from peripheral cells back to the liver.
