Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase (PDE) family, specifically the PDE7 subfamily. This enzyme hydrolyzes the second messenger cAMP, a key regulator of cellular responses to extracellular signals. By modulating cAMP levels, PDE7A plays an important role in various physiological processes. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been reported.
