Target Information
CEACAM1 is a member of the carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) gene family, belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily. The CEA family includes cell adhesion molecules and pregnancy-specific glycoproteins, located within a 1.2 Mb cluster on chromosome 19. CEACAM1 functions as a cell-cell adhesion molecule found on leukocytes, epithelia, and endothelia. It mediates homophilic and heterophilic interactions, contributing to tissue structure, angiogenesis, apoptosis, tumor suppression, metastasis, and immune modulation. Multiple transcript variants exist, with two full-length isoforms identified.
