This antibody is directed against human BLIMP1 protein. It is predicted to react with BLIMP1 and its isoforms from human, mouse, rat, and other species based on 100% homology with the immunizing sequence. It may also recognize other proteins showing high homology with the BLIMP1 sequence.
Target Information
Blimp-1 (B lymphocyte maturation protein-1) is a nuclear protein containing five zinc fingers in its carboxy terminus. It functions as a transcriptional repressor required for the terminal differentiation of B lymphocytes and monocyte/macrophages. Blimp-1 is expressed in terminally differentiated epithelial cells, retinal neurons, and other cell lineages. It is also implicated in the repression of beta-interferon (IFN-beta) and c-myc gene expression.
