Product Specific Information

This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems developed by cloning antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.

Advantages of recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies:

  • Better specificity and sensitivity
  • Lot-to-lot consistency
  • Animal origin–free formulations
  • Broader immunoreactivity due to larger rabbit immune repertoire

This antibody specifically recognizes HIV-1 gp120 (Glycoprotein 120).

Target Information

Human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) entry into target cells is mediated by envelope (Env) glycoproteins, present as trimers of gp120/gp41 complexes.
The gp120 subunit interacts sequentially with the CD4 receptor and co-receptors CCR5 or CXCR4, inducing conformational changes that enable gp41 to mediate fusion between viral and host cell membranes.
Cleavage of Env into gp120 and gp41 components is essential for activation of fusogenic activity.
