Target Information
NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase (complex I) is a multiprotein complex located in the inner mitochondrial membrane.
Human complex I is essential for energy metabolism, transferring electrons from NADH to ubiquinone while moving protons across the membrane.
It consists of 41 subunits, with subunits 1–7 encoded by mitochondrial genes and others by nuclear DNA.
ND3 localizes to the hydrophobic fragment of complex I, and mutations in ND3 may be associated with Parkinson’s disease.
