Product Specific Information

The HI30 monoclonal antibody reacts with all isoforms of human CD45, also known as Leukocyte Common Antigen (LCA). CD45 is expressed by all hematopoietic cells excluding circulating erythrocytes and platelets. The cytoplasmic portion of CD45 has tyrosine phosphatase enzymatic activity and plays a key role in lymphocyte activation.

Target Information

CD45 (LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase expressed on all nucleated hematopoietic cells, comprising ~10% of lymphocyte surface proteins. It is absent on non-hematopoietic tissues. CD45 plays a critical role in lymphocyte development and antigen signaling, regulating Src-family kinases and JAK kinases, and modulating integrin-mediated signal transduction and apoptosis. Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains but sharing transmembrane and cytoplasmic domains.
