MM550C targets IL-5 in ELISA, IA, and WB applications and shows reactivity with mouse samples.
The immunogen used for MM550C is recombinant mouse IL-5.
MM550C detects IL-5, which has a predicted molecular weight of approximately 13 kDa.
This antibody is produced by injecting Rat IgG-secreting hybridoma cells into the peritoneum of mice. The resulting ascites is collected, and the antibody is purified.
This product is a Low Endotoxin formulation.
It has been tested for endotoxins by limulus amoebocyte lysate (LAL) assay and contains ≤10 EU/mg endotoxin concentration.
Target Information
IL-5 is a cytokine that acts as a growth and differentiation factor for B cells and eosinophils. It regulates eosinopoiesis, eosinophil maturation, and activation.
Elevated IL-5 production is associated with asthma and hypereosinophilic syndromes.
The IL-5 receptor is a heterodimer; its beta subunit is shared with receptors for IL-3 and CSF2/GM-CSF.
IL-5, IL-4, IL-13, and CSF2 form a cytokine gene cluster on chromosome 5, regulated by long-range regulatory elements on chromosome 5q31.
