PEP-1464 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-34422.
Target Information
Angiogenin (ANG or ANG I) plays a key role in neovascularization and new blood vessel formation. It is structurally similar to pancreatic ribonuclease A and functions as a tRNA-specific ribonuclease that inhibits protein synthesis by hydrolyzing cellular tRNAs. ANG interacts with endothelial cell-surface actin, leading to cytoskeletal changes. It is implicated in solid tumor development, and its antagonists can inhibit tumor growth. Defects in ANG are associated with susceptibility to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis type 9 (ALS9), linking ANG genetically to both ALS and Parkinson’s disease.
