Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene contains an RNA recognition motif found in various RNA-binding proteins, including hnRNP proteins and components of snRNPs. It is implicated in the regulation of alternative splicing. In vitro studies have shown that the rat homolog binds RNA homopolymers, preferring G and U polyribonucleotides. This gene is located on chromosome Xp11.23, with its 3′ end lying within 20 kb upstream of UBE1. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
