Product Specific Information

  • For immunohistochemistry (PFA-fixed): incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
  • Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.

Target Information

p27 Kip1 functions as a negative regulator of G1 phase progression and may mediate TGFβ-induced G1 arrest. It is a key regulator of the cell cycle, inhibiting cyclin E- and cyclin A-CDK2 complexes.
p27 Kip1 forms complexes with cyclin D-CDK4, influencing assembly and activation depending on phosphorylation state and stoichiometry.
With an approximate molecular weight of 27 kDa, degradation of p27 Kip1—triggered by CDK-dependent phosphorylation and ubiquitination by SCF complexes—is essential for the transition from quiescence to proliferation.
