Product Specific Information
- For IHC (PFA-fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- For formalin-fixed tissues: Heat tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, then cool at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Prolactin (PRL) is a pituitary hormone involved in milk production, salt and water regulation, growth, development, and reproduction. PRL acts through a signal transduction pathway initiated by binding to the PRL receptor (PRLR), a member of the cytokine receptor family. PRLR exists in short and long forms (40–100 kDa depending on tissue and species) and includes:
- An extracellular domain with 5 cysteines containing the prolactin-binding site
- A single transmembrane domain
- A cytoplasmic domain influencing ligand binding and cellular regulation
