ARF 단백질은 RAS 초패밀리에 속하며, Class I (ARF1, ARF2, ARF3), Class II (ARF4, ARF5), Class III (ARF6)으로 구분됩니다. ARF1은 골지체에 위치하며, 골지 내 수송에 핵심적인 역할을 합니다. 이 유전자는 동일 단백질을 암호화하는 여러 대체 스플라이싱 전사 변이체를 포함합니다.
