Product Specific Information
The monoclonal antibody 5G11 directed against the mouse LTβR activates the receptor in an agonistic manner, inducing NFκB activation and secretion of MIP-2 and IL-6 in mouse fibroblast cells. This antibody is suitable for studying LTβR expression patterns and molecular mechanisms associated with LTβR activation.
Target Information
The LTβR protein is a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) receptor family. It is expressed on most cell types, including epithelial and myeloid cells, but not on T or B lymphocytes. LTβR binds the membrane form of lymphotoxin (a complex of lymphotoxin-α and lymphotoxin-β). The receptor-ligand interaction plays a key role in lymphoid tissue development and cellular organization. Activation of LTβR can trigger apoptosis.
