This antibody detects endogenous levels of total CYP1B1.
Target Information
CYP1B1 is a 543 amino acid intracellular protein localized to the endoplasmic reticulum. It belongs to the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes (monooxygenases), catalyzing reactions involved in drug metabolism and the synthesis of cholesterol, steroids, and other lipids. This enzyme metabolizes procarcinogens such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and 17β-estradiol, and participates in ocular development. Mutations in CYP1B1 are associated with primary congenital glaucoma.
