Antibody detects endogenous levels of total ABO.
Target Information
Histo-blood group ABO system transferase (NAGAT) is a member of the glycosyltransferase 6 family and forms the basis of the ABO blood group system.
The ABO system involves three carbohydrate antigens: A, B, and H.
NAGAT converts the H antigen to A (by addition of UDP-GalNAc) or B (by addition of UDP-Gal).
O individuals lack this glycosyltransferase activity due to a frame-shift deletion in the gene.
NAGAT localizes to the Golgi apparatus and its conserved DXD motif functions in cofactor binding.
