Product Specific Information
This antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
Members of the inositol hexakisphosphate kinase family, IP6K1 and IP6K2, exhibit high affinity and selectivity for inositol hexakisphosphate (InsP6) as a substrate. These kinases convert InsP6 to PP-InsP5 but do not act on other inositol pyrophosphates. InsP6 inhibits serine/threonine protein phosphatases and increases calcium influx across the plasma membrane, suggesting a role in insulin exocytosis regulation. IP6K1 and IP6K2 have been characterized in mouse as 50 kDa and 49 kDa proteins, respectively. IP6K1 also demonstrates ATP synthase activity, transferring phosphate from PP-InsP5 to ADP, indicating a potential function as high-energy phosphate donors.
