Target Information

The protein encoded by the TOMM34 gene is involved in the import of precursor proteins into mitochondria. It exhibits chaperone-like activity by binding to unfolded proteins and assisting their mitochondrial import. This cytoplasmic protein is sometimes associated with the outer mitochondrial membrane, shows weak ATPase activity, and contains six TPR repeats.
