This antibody detects endogenous levels of total MCG10 protein.
Target Information
MCG10 is a member of the KH-domain RNA-binding protein family, also referred to as alpha-CPs, which bind RNA with specificity for C-rich pyrimidine regions. These proteins play important roles in post-transcriptional regulation and exhibit distinct cellular distributions. MCG10 is induced by p53 and DNA damage through two p53-responsive promoter elements. Overexpression leads to suppression of cell proliferation via apoptosis and G2-M cell cycle arrest. Reduced expression of certain isoforms has been observed in various lung cancers, suggesting a tumor suppressor role. Multiple alternatively spliced isoforms have been identified.
