ORAI3는 칼슘 신호 전달 및 항상성 조절에 관여하는 단백질 코딩 유전자입니다. ORAI 단백질 패밀리의 구성원으로, 세포막의 칼슘 방출 활성화 채널(CRAC)을 형성합니다.
이 채널은 소포체 내 칼슘 고갈 시 활성화되어 세포질 내로 칼슘 이온 유입을 유도합니다.
ORAI3는 T-세포 활성화, 근육 수축, 신경전달물질 방출 등 다양한 생리 과정에 관여하며, 발현 이상은 면역질환, 암, 심혈관 질환 등과 연관되어 있습니다.
