Description:
The eBioHMb1-1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse and rat CD29 (integrin beta 1), a 110–120 kDa member of the beta integrin family expressed by leukocytes, endothelial, smooth muscle, and epithelial cells. CD29 associates with alpha integrins (CD49a–f) to form VLA-1 through VLA-6 complexes, mediating cellular adhesion, trafficking, proliferation, and differentiation. It binds extracellular matrix proteins such as collagen, laminin, fibronectin, and vitronectin, and interacts with receptors like VCAM-1 and MadCAM-1.

Applications Reported:
Suitable for flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested on mouse spleen, thymus, and bone marrow cells. Recommended ≤1 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimize antibody titration for best performance.

Target Information

ITGB1 (Integrin Subunit Beta 1):
A 110 kDa cell surface glycoprotein expressed by various cell types, including leukocytes. Forms heterodimers with multiple alpha chains (α1–α6), determining binding specificity of VLA integrins. Plays a key role in cell adhesion, migration, and immune cell trafficking. Reduced expression is linked to multidrug resistance in tumor cells. ITGB1 regulates cytokine secretion and tissue responses in inflammatory conditions. Two main isoforms, β1A and β1D, show tissue-specific distribution, with β1A present in most tissues except cardiac and skeletal muscle, where β1D predominates.
