This antibody detects endogenous levels of PDGF Receptor alpha only when phosphorylated at Tyrosine 849.
Target Information
PDGFRA is a cell surface receptor tyrosine kinase that binds members of the platelet-derived growth factor family. These growth factors act as mitogens for cells of mesenchymal origin. The identity of the bound growth factor determines whether the receptor forms a homodimer or a heterodimer with PDGFRβ. Knockout mouse studies indicate that PDGFRA plays a crucial role in kidney development, as heterozygous mice exhibit defective kidney phenotypes.
