This antibody detects endogenous levels of total MAGEA9.
Target Information
MAGEA9 is a member of the MAGEA gene family. Members of this family have coding sequences located in the last exon, and the encoded proteins share 50–80% sequence identity. Promoters and first exons vary considerably, allowing similar functions under different transcriptional controls. MAGEA genes are highly expressed in various tumors but silent in normal tissues except testis and placenta. They are located on chromosome Xq28 and may be implicated in hereditary disorders such as dyskeratosis congenita.
