This antibody reacts with some classical MHC Class I molecules (MHC Class Ia):
- HLA-B7 (strongly)
- HLA-B8 (moderately)
- HLA-B27, -B44 (weakly)
Target Information
HLA-E belongs to the HLA class I heavy chain paralogues. This molecule forms a heterodimer with beta-2 microglobulin.
- The heavy chain (~45 kDa) is membrane-anchored.
- Binds peptides derived from leader sequences of other class I molecules.
- Gene contains 8 exons encoding leader peptide, alpha domains, transmembrane region, and cytoplasmic tail.
HLA and MHC antibodies are critical tools in Immunopeptidomics, enabling identification and characterization of neoantigens via LC-MS/MS.
