Preparation:
Produced in mice immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human IL-2. Anti-Human IL-2-specific antibody was purified from cell culture by Protein A affinity chromatography.
Target Information
Interleukin 2 (IL-2) is an immuno-modulatory cytokine important for proliferation of activated T cells and differentiation of B cells, NK cells, monocytes, and macrophages.
IL-2 signals through the IL-2 receptor (IL-2R), a heterotrimeric complex whose gamma chain is shared with IL-4 and IL-7.
The IL-2 gene in mature thymocytes is monoallelically expressed, indicating a unique regulatory mechanism.
Disruption of IL-2-like genes in mice causes colitis-like symptoms, highlighting its essential role in immune regulation.
