Target Information

The homeobox DNA-binding domain is a conserved 60 amino acid motif that binds DNA via a helix-turn-helix structure, playing a key role in transcriptional regulation and gene expression control.
PRRX1 (paired related homeobox 1), also known as PMX1 or PHOX1, is a 245 amino acid nuclear protein containing one OAR domain and one homeobox domain. It acts as a transcriptional co-activator enhancing SRF-dependent gene expression and regulates creatine kinase-M transcriptional activity, contributing to mesodermal muscle type establishment.
PRRX1 exists as two alternatively spliced isoforms, PMX1-A and PMX1-B.
