Target Information
CCR7 is a member of the G protein-coupled receptor family, specifically the chemokine receptor subfamily. It is induced by Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) and mediates EBV effects on B lymphocytes. CCR7 is expressed in blood, bone marrow, lymph node, and intestine, particularly in lymphoid tissues and activated B and T lymphocytes. It regulates migration of memory T cells to inflamed tissues and promotes dendritic cell maturation. The chemokine ligand CCL19 (ECL) is a specific ligand for CCR7. Receptors in the C-C chemokine family include CCR1, CCR2A, CCR3, CCR4, CCR5, and the Duffy blood group antigen, which are important for T cell chemotaxis and phagocyte migration to inflammation sites.
