Specificity:
An engineered ScFv fragment antibody that binds to both mouse mNRR1 and human hNRR1 but not NRR2.

Preparation:
This antibody was selected against a fusion protein consisting of EGF domains 1–12 of murine Notch1 fused to a human Fc domain and binds to the NRR of mouse Notch1.

Target Information

The Notch gene family encodes transmembrane proteins with multiple cysteine-rich EGF-like repeats in the extracellular region.
Four Notch genes have been described in mammals: Notch1, Notch2, Notch3, and Notch4 (Int-3), which are involved in the differentiation of the nervous system and other structures.
The EGF-like proteins Delta and Serrate have been identified as ligands of Notch1.
Mature Notch proteins are heterodimeric receptors derived from cleavage of Notch pre-proteins into:

• An extracellular subunit (NEC) with multiple EGF-like repeats
• A transmembrane subunit (Ntm) including the intracellular region
