Product Specific Information
Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Anti-TRYPSINOGEN (Rabbit) Antibody is an IgG fraction purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process including delipidation, salt fractionation, and ion-exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis.
Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Peroxidase, anti-Rabbit Serum, and purified Trypsinogen (Bovine Pancreas). Cross-reactivity with other species has not been determined.
Target Information
This gene belongs to the trypsin family of serine proteases and encodes anionic trypsinogen. It is located within the T cell receptor beta locus and is highly expressed in pancreatic juice.
Upregulation is characteristic of pancreatitis and may play a role in tumor invasion via activation of pro-urokinase in ovarian tumors. It can also cleave the type II collagen triple helix in rheumatoid arthritis synovitis tissue, contributing to cartilage matrix degradation.
Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
